How to play Checkers (Draughts)

Checkers (Draughts) is a light game (rated 1.7 of 5 for complexity on BoardGameGeek) that plays with 2 players. It's an Abstract Strategy game where the core of play revolves around Grid Movement. A two-player game of diagonally moving uniform pieces on a checkerboard, capturing by jumping, with pieces promoted to kings on reaching the far row. Developed from medieval Alquerque by placing it on a chessboard (c. 12th century), it is among the most widely played abstract games and was solved by computer in 2007.
