How to play Oh Hell
Play individually against three computer opponents. Each deal uses a standard 52-card deck, with aces high. The 19 deals run from 10 cards per player down to 1, then back to 10. A face-up undealt card sets trump.
Starting left of the dealer, bid your expected tricks. Zero is allowed. The dealer bids last and cannot make the total equal the number of tricks available. The player left of the dealer leads first.
Follow the led suit if possible; otherwise play any card. Highest trump wins, or highest card of the led suit when no trump appears. The winner leads next. Trump can be led at any time.
We use Blackout scoring: exactly your bid earns 10 plus your bid; a miss earns zero. After all 19 deals, the highest total wins; tied leaders share the win.
Rules reference: Pagat — Oh Hell. The computer chooses legal moves from its own hand and public play.
