How to play Rare Dive
Answer trivia questions across categories where rarer, more unexpected answers earn greater depth, completing seven questions per session.
Each session gives you seven trivia questions, one at a time, each with a 25-second timer. Type your answer into the text field and press Enter or the arrow button to submit. If your answer isn't accepted, you can keep trying other answers until the timer runs out.
Answers are scored by rarity: common answers score shallower depth, while unexpected but valid answers earn more depth. The game draws from an original bank of 98 categories and assigns each accepted answer one of six editorial rarity scores, so thinking beyond the obvious pays off.
If you want to skip a question entirely, press Pass. After all seven questions are done, you can choose Unlimited mode to keep playing with fresh questions beyond the daily set.
The Daily mode is shared — everyone gets the same seven questions that day. Your progress is saved locally in your browser, so there are no accounts or logins required. After finishing, you get a spoiler-free result you can share.

Depth is the score earned by each accepted answer based on its rarity — rarer, more unexpected answers grant greater depth than common ones. Six editorial rarity scores determine how much depth each answer is worth.
What is the difference between Daily and Unlimited mode?
Daily mode gives everyone the same seven questions each day and tracks your progress locally so you can share spoiler-free results. Unlimited mode, available after completing the daily set, lets you play fresh sessions of questions without any limit.
Does Rare Dive require an account or internet connection to save progress?
