How to play Overnight Dash

Jump across rooftop gaps in a neon city skyline, surviving as long as possible while the speed increases, and beat your high score.

Overnight Dash is a one-button runner set on a neon rooftop skyline. Your character moves forward automatically, and the only thing you control is jumping. Time each jump to clear the gaps between rooftops — fall into a gap and the run ends.

The game gets faster as you go, so gaps that felt manageable early on demand sharper timing later. Watch the edge of each roof and press your jump input just before you reach it. Landing triggers a soft sound cue; missing a landing ends the run with a descending crash tone.

Your score is tracked in real time and compared against your personal best, which is saved in your browser. If you beat your previous best, the game flags it on the game-over screen. There are no lives or checkpoints — every run starts fresh from the same speed.

The game runs entirely in your browser with no account, download, or installation needed. It works on both desktop and mobile, and the M key lets you toggle sound off if you prefer silence.

Overnight Dash — FAQ

What is Overnight Dash?

Overnight Dash is a free one-button browser game where you run across neon rooftops, jumping over gaps while the skyline speeds up. It was made by Overnight Desk and plays instantly in any desktop or mobile browser with no account required.

How do you play Overnight Dash?

Your character runs forward automatically — press Space, W, Up Arrow, click, or tap to jump over the gaps between rooftops. The game speeds up over time, so surviving longer demands more precise timing. A run ends the moment you fall, and your score is shown against your saved personal best.

Does Overnight Dash have a double jump?

The code includes a distinct sound for a second jump ('dbl'), which suggests a double-jump mechanic is present. Listen for the different audio cue when you press jump a second time while airborne.

Is my high score saved between sessions?

Yes. Overnight Dash saves your best score to your browser's local storage, so it persists across sessions as long as you use the same browser and haven't cleared site data. The game-over screen will flag 'new best!' if you beat your record.

Does Overnight Dash work on mobile?

Yes. The game is built with touch support — tap anywhere on the canvas to jump, exactly like clicking on desktop. No app install is needed; just open it in a mobile browser.
